As they say in the medical field there is no cure for asthma but there are several ways to control it. Controlling your asthma means controlling the symptoms of asthma. The first part of controlling your asthma symptoms is to first identifying the triggers that cause severe attacks. You can ask your doctor in help with discovering what types of triggers are in your region. Also the variations of triggers that might just affect you and not someone else that suffers from asthma. Doctors will always ask if you had anyone in your family that has been diagnosed with asthma. If there has been someone in your family tree that has had asthma, the chance of you developing it goes way up. If you can learn on what your triggers are, it could help you to avoid many of the same areas that have those triggers.

Another type of control is your surroundings, your home and your work space. Even house hold chemicals that we use to clean on a daily basis can have an adverse affect on someone that suffers from asthma. Use a vacuum that has a really good air filtration system on it, to catch all that it sucks up but doesn’t release anything back into the air. These are good ways to start to control your asthma. Some types of foods can also be a trigger. Chicken, fish, chicken eggs and even the smoke that is produced when you cook these foods are also a trigger.

There are other things you can do to minimize your asthma attacks, which can take a little more time and effort. One is the emotion distresses that you go through on a daily basis. Negative stress can really take a toll on your body if you let it aggravate you to the point where your breathing suffers because of it. Anger, sadness and fear have been called asthma triggers.
